Connect to the WashU Network through VPN

Instructions for Downloading the Client

If you use MaxOSX Catalina (10.15.x)

the MacOSX 10.15.x VPN client can be downloaded from Box by people within WashU from here: https://wustl.box.com/s/89aq55v287hfnryfigdxig1j6k1v7fyl

If you use other Mac or Windows Operating Systems

Login with your WUSTL Key at https://vpn.wustl.edu/artsci and follow the instructions to download the client software onto your home computer.

Make sure you are on the VPN page with the Arts & Sciences logo!

During the installation process, you will receive a popup box asking you to trust a certificate.

  • Click on the Trust button to accept.

If you are installing within Internet Explorer, you will receive a prompt to accept an ActiveX plugin.

  • Click to install the ActiveX plugin.

If you receive a login error, you will have to change your Wustl key password . This will force the two systems to synchronize. As soon as the password is changed, it will update in the VPN system.

Launch and Log in to the VPN Client in the Windows Operating System

After installation, you can relaunch the VPN client again by following these instructions:

  1. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Cisco -> Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client
  2. When you receive the notification "Please enter a secure gateway to connect to," click OK
  3. In the “Connect to:” field, enter: vpn.wustl.edu/artsci
  4. Click Select
  5. Enter your Wustl key credentials and click Connect

Launch and Log in to the VPN Client in the Mac Operating System

Go to Application -> Cisco -> Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client

  1. When you receive the notification "Please enter a secure gateway to connect to," click OK
  2. In the “Connect to:” field, enter: vpn.wustl.edu/artsci
  3. Click Select
  4. Enter your Wustl key credentials and click Connect
