Arts & Sciences welcomes new departmental and program leadership for 2023-2024

The onset of the 2023-24 academic year brings new courses, new students, and new leadership appointments in Arts & Sciences. Chairs and directors provide essential leadership and service to their respective units, and we are grateful to all current and past faculty members who have taken on these roles. This year, 10 departments and programs have named new leadership. 

  

Art History and Archaeology 

Incoming chair: William Wallace, the Barbara Murphy Bryant Distinguished Professor of Art History   

Outgoing chair: Elizabeth C. Childs, the Etta and Mark Steinberg Professor of Art History  

  

Biology 

Incoming chair: Ram Dixit, professor of biology
