Facilities, space planning and maintenance operations

Facilities supports the teaching and research mission of Washington University in St. Louis by providing a safe, clean, comfortable work environment for the campus community. Our vision is to build, renovate and maintain sustainable facilities with pride and integrity.

Campus Planning

Space planning in Arts & Sciences is overseen by Dzenana Mruckovski, director of facilities. Departments are encouraged to consult with her on planning for new hires, building renovations and space needs. 

Maintenance Operations

Maintenance Operations provides routine and emergency maintenance to the Danforth, West, North, South and Residential Life operated off campus housing buildings.

In addition to general maintenance, these services include:

Buildings are grouped in geographic zones.

Each zone has a zone manager, a working supervisor and a crew of multi-crafted mechanics, all of whom operate out of a satellite office.
