Kristoffer Smemo is an Academic Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences as well as a Lecturer in the History Department.
Kit grew up in Minnesota and took his PhD at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research and teaching focuses on labor, politics, and American culture. As an advisor, Kit is excited to get to know students and help them as they develop their intellectual path at WashU. When not at work, Kit can be found running, collecting records, and hanging out with his partner and dog Gus in St. Louis. His articles have appeared in the Journal of American History, Labor, and Critical Historical Studies. His current book project, Making Republicans Liberal: Social Struggle and the Politics of Accommodation in Twentieth-Century America is under contract at the University of Pennsylvania Press. His pronouns are he/him/his.
