Academic and Administrative Cluster

The Academic and Administrative Cluster (AAC) provides staffing for 16 departments and programs in Arts & Sciences.

AAC Coordinators, embedded in departmental offices, provide direct support to academic units, their faculty, and departmental leaders. They support a wide variety of tasks: undergraduate and graduate program support, faculty and student support, courses, events, communications, andgeneral office support.

AAC Supervisors manage and training AAC Coordinators while ensuring all AAC units have their staffing needs met. Our supervisors handle all HR related tasks for the AAC Coordinators, including time keeping and performance reviews. Additionally, the supervisors directly support the department by taking on high-level administrative tasks for departments (renovations, academic unit convergences, interactions with university counsel, etc.) and sharing their in-depth understanding of university policies and procedures with departmental leaders.

The AAC Interim Manager is the team leader and builder of the Academic and Administrative Cluster. The AAC values leadership that is people-oriented and collaborative in nature, and strives to build a culture based on teamwork, open communication, innovation, mentoring, and accountability. The manager trains and coaches AAC Supervisors for excellence. Additionally, the manager: leads the AAC staff evaluation process; manages cluster-wide logistics and access; sets AAC wide training; creates sustaining documentation; and directly supports staff recruitment.
