Bhavna Hirani

Senior Research Development Associate

As senior research development associate, Bhavna Hirani leads research proposal development in key areas of Arts & Sciences, especially in support of TRIADS. In this role, her major activities include developing large-scale interdisciplinary grant proposals, identifying external resources for partnerships, interacting with funding agencies/sponsors to identify synergies with university researchers, analyzing data to help drive strategic planning and prepare competitive readiness, and assisting with the design and execution of an internal seed grant funding program.

A significant portion of her time is focused on TRIADS where she provides support to the mission of advancing impactful social science-related research using the tools and resources of the big data revolution.

Bhavna has a doctorate in analytical and inorganic chemistry from the University of Southern California. She has a master’s degree in polymer chemistry from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and an undergraduate degree in textile engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, India. She has experience in research, research development, research project management, and partnerships management.
