Arts & Sciences Faculty Award Nomination Form

Thank you for helping us recognize outstanding members of the Arts & Sciences community for their contributions to teaching, research, and service. Please review details and criteria for each award, below, and use this form to nominate one person for an award. If you wish to nominate more than one person, please submit a separate form for each nominee. 

Nominations will be accepted beginning Monday, April 6 through Monday, May 18, 2026.

Distinguished Faculty Awards

  • The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes the power of innovative teaching to enrich the lives of undergraduate and graduate students. Any instructor who demonstrates exceptional teaching in Arts & Sciences is eligible to be nominated.
     
  • The David Hadas Teaching Award in Arts & Sciences honors one tenured faculty member in Arts & Sciences who demonstrates commitment and excellence in teaching first-year undergraduate students. The winner will be selected from the pool of faculty members nominated for teaching awards who meet the criteria for this award.
     
  • The Dean's Award for Inclusive Excellence recognizes contributions from Arts & Sciences faculty who advance inclusive excellence. Eligible areas in which contributions are made may include research in the nominee’s field of study, teaching or mentoring, or service that improves campus culture.
     
  • The Faculty Leadership Award honors the long history of outstanding faculty leaders who have shaped Washington University, from developing educational programs and policy to serving on committees and in administration. Instructors at any level may be nominated for their service and leadership.
